Get involved

We’re always looking for people interested in learning more about safe streets for all. There are lots of ways to help Fairfax Families For Safe Streets.  Why volunteer with Fairfax FSS?

The Cause: As a volunteer, you’ll be positively affecting and promoting safe streets for all including children, seniors, and the disabled.

Learn new useful skills: No experience is necessary, and you can volunteer as much or as little as your schedule permits.  We train all of our volunteers and will help get you involved in areas you may be interested in.  See list below.  You’ll learn valuable skills you can apply in other career fields. You will meet leaders in the safe streets network and in our local communities.  No other benefits are bestowed in exchange for your volunteer work other than the joy of giving to an organization that supports safe streets for all people.

Become part of an organization of concerned citizens: Fairfax Families For Safe Streets is a forum for people who are concerned about pedestrian safety within our community. We’re an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that spends 100% of our time and resources advancing and promoting smart mobility in our region.  We celebrate our work through weekend outreach events, group walks, as well as educational and social activities,

The following roles describe responsibilities  No experience is necessary, we’ll provide training.  To further discuss, please contact fairfax@novafss.org.  Have any other ideas about ways you can help?  Just let us know!
